The Intersection of Mental Well-Being and Professional Development

When we first started Boon in 2019, our mission was to become the most approachable mental well-being solution in the workplace. We saw an opportunity to nurture mental health from a proactive lens, focused on the day-to-day challenges that employees were dealing with (i.e., coping with stress & anxiety, burnout, relationships, etc.) rather than the traditional EAP (Employee Assistance Program) model of viewing employee mental health from a crisis perspective. We determined that personalized, 1:1 coaching was the best modality to solve this challenge in the workplace and saw an opportunity to layer a more approachable, non-stigmatized resource on top of existing EAPs.

Fast forward to today. We’ve delivered tens of thousands of coaching sessions to 80+ businesses, ranging from financial services to logistics, recruiting / staffing, manufacturing, advertising & marketing, and more. One thing has remained relatively universal in our experience: employees aren’t just looking for mental health support. We’ve found that what employees are really seeking is a combination of mental well-being and professional development.
